Sick… Sucks!

by Terrence on Feb.25, 2009, under Fitness, Life

Well, today I toke up around 5am with an incredible headache and my nose all stopped up.  I have always had some sinus issues, usually only happens during the cold season or spring.  Anyway, I’m laid up in bed, I’ll probably order something to eat since I’m not fully stocked here.

Otherwise, in bed, dozing all day is my plan.  I feel much better than I did this morning, but I’m a big baby when I get sick.  Dumb sicknes!

Morning Workout… not so much!

by Terrence on Feb.24, 2009, under Exercise, Fitness, Life

Well, I apparently don’t enjoy dragging myself out of bed at the crack of dawn and throwing myself forcefully onto the elliptical machine and then lifting weights.  My body just didn’t take kindly to these ministrations.

Well, I guess on a lighter note, when I move I’ll be going to the gym around 6pm, working out until about 7pm and then heading on home to my honey bun.

Now, back to work.  Someone is whipping me on the back telling me to mush, what am I a pack dog?

Cheers!! (I work for an aussie company, they say that ya know!)

Learning Guitar… very slowly…

by Terrence on Feb.22, 2009, under Life

Well, my baby bought me a guitar for x-mas and I’m a slacker so I haven’t learned much, but I’m slowly getting it.  I tuned it, which is probably the easiest part.  I bought a book, so I’ll try to learn a song a month.  It’s going to be a slow slow process because I don’t have that much time to play with it.

But I thank him for getting, I’ve been wanting to learn.

Back to Goals

by Terrence on Feb.22, 2009, under Work

Well, I’ve navigated away from my primary personal goals slightly.

Work has kind of altered my times a bit, so I was not able to get to the gym as often and focus on my goals.

So, yesterday started my new found drive to achieve my goals.

  1. Lose about 50 pounds. Off to a reasonable start on this one.
  2. Alter my diet, increase vegetable and water intake.
  3. Attain GPEN and CCNA certifications.

I need to be more productive!

by Terrence on Feb.19, 2009, under Life

As I sit here eating my dinner after work and studying for an exam in about a week, I find myself thinking about how unpreductive we are with constant interuptions.  At work today, for example, I was going to get a bunch of paperwork done, but instead I sat around with Symantec and Microsoft trying to fix problems.  I will either have to stay late tomorrow or get it all done tonight and frankly, I’m a bit tired, so it will probably be tomorrow.

Anyway, no more interruptions tomorrow.

Anywho, on a lighter note.  Made another amazing pasta.  Same as before, just one or two carrots and about a half cup of green peas, frozen (they seem to cook better).

Whole Wheat Past with Kalamata Olives, Sliced Carrots, and Artichoke Hearts

by Terrence on Feb.17, 2009, under Food

This pasta is sooooo easy.

Take about two thumbs (bunches about the size of your thumb) worth of whole wheat pasta of choice.  I used the Kroger brand because I’m not that discerning, use whatever you like though.

A handful of bit sized carrots sliced length wise, a tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick pan, saute until just starting to brown.

Add artichoke hearts and halved whole kalamata olives.  They add a little zip I think.  Saute for about 2 minutes.

Add 6 tablespoon of your favorite Italian tomato sauce. (I had some vegan stuff I bought in the store and needed to use.)

Saute until some of the liquid evaporates and the sauce thicken quite a bit.

Throw paste in an toss.

Serve!

Takes about 10 minutes (the time to cook the pasta).

Planning a Wonderful Birthday Celebration

by Terrence on Feb.16, 2009, under Life

I imagine that Vu’s friend’s will want to do something for him, so I’m not sure I should plan a big thing, I might just do something for us one night before or after his b-day.  We’ll be going to the mountain’s I’m told the weekend following his birthday.  I think the second weekend of March if I’m not mistaken.

I should really get on the ball and figure this all out.  I can’t spend too much so I’ll make it stretch a bit.

Transferring Posts

by Terrence on Feb.16, 2009, under Technology

Dear sweet lord!

This is no easy task.  I’ve got the images over, but now I don’t have comments or anything else.  So I’m working on getting my plugins and comments back.  We’ll see how it goes.

  1. Get Posts Over – Done
  2. Get Images Over – Done
  3. Get Comments Back – Working on it!
  4. Get Categoirs Back – Working on it!
  5. Get Plugins all back – Working on it!

I’m thinking a day or two.
