A Game for Getting to Know People
by Terrence on Mar.29, 2009, under Life
The Game
Take turns asking and answering the questions below. There are no exact rules. The idea is to have fun mostly with just the conversation. You can modify questions for younger children. You can introduce drawing or painting, singing or charades. You could throw a bean bag back and forth each time you do a new question? You can do this standing, sitting, or walking. It can be played inside, outside or over the phone. It’s not a competitive game. It’s a game of fun, warmth, and relationship building.
Print out the questions below. You can either take turns asking questions you like from the list or you can randomly choose numbers, whatever works for you. If other questions follow naturally, all the better. Let the conversation flow! Let us know how you modify the game for more fun!

My Anaconda Don't Want None Unless Its Got Buns Hun
Well, it was an interesting night. My day started off with a Mango juice and some water, followed by a 30min run and a personal
training session. I then ran to work to get a laptop and charger that I had on my desk that I needed for a project.
I then ran back home and pushed Vu to get ready in time for us to meet one of his friends for a night at the Theatre! We got to his friend’s house and we promptly hopped in the car and headed to the Alliance Theatre where a new children’s program was to debut. It was a stage version of Class of 3000, a Disney film. I got to see Andre Benjamin and a few other muckity mucks. And hundreds of little ones clamering for the show.
All in all, it was a great night.
Then I took out Vu for a little birthday dinner before bed. He got the eggplant parm and I got the chicken parm. We both had a ton of salad and shared a Tiramisu (our favorite).
After that we literally got home, got in bad and the snoring began!
Tomorrow we have a birthday dinner then I have to head on home.
Birthday Party
by on Aug.02, 2008, under Uncategorized
So my friends threw me this spontaneous birthday party on Friday night. It was great, we went bowling and had a few beers and then to my surprise, they had gotten me a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Anyway, it was great and I need to send them all e-mails thanking them.
Lazy Programmers are Good Programmers
by on Jul.20, 2008, under Uncategorized
Most of my friends are not computer folk, so this should be interesting anyway.
In my opinion the best programmers are the laziest programmers. We’ll show some examples. A lazy programmer will find a way to program something once and reuse those methods throughout their entire program.
So write once, use many. That’s a pretty efficient solution for a lazy programmer. Now just to remember that you’ve created that method when you write your next application.
Oh here is another one, but somewhat controversial. If someone has already written it and I have their source, by golly it’s mine now bitches! Don’t recreate the wheel.
Now for real efficiency, if it can be done in 2 lines of code as opposed to 30, a lazy programmer will find a way to do it!
10 Essentials of Dating
by Terrence on Jun.29, 2008, under Life
These are the 10 essentials of gay dating. I don’t go for the stereotypical shit…
- Attractive: This is very subjective, if you don’t find the other person attractive, don’t waste your time. It must be a mutual thing. You can still be friends with people you aren’t attracted to, so don’t discount them as a friend, but be clear that you don’t find them attractive in a sexual way early on.
- Respect: You need to have respect for the person and they should also respect you in the same way. This could be as little as helping clean up after dinner to something more important like jokes told in the company of friends.
- Go Dutch: You should never pay for the other person to start off. You should both be able to pay for yourselves and be comfortable in your own lives. It seems to be the trend in the gay community for one person to pick up the tab, I’ve fallen victim to this too many times.
- Trust: This one is built over time, but you should have trust that you will adhere to whatever boundaries you decide the dating will fall into. I, for instance, believe in a monogamous relationship. I don’t want anything coming into my house or body that I don’t know. That includes diseases.
- Boundaries: Again, you must both set the boundaries of the relationship. What you both expect to get and to receive. This might seem tough to do when you start dating, but it needs to be dealt with early.
- Location: You should not mind traveling between the two places of dwelling. If it’s not feasible it needs to be discussed. Long distance relationships are hard and humans just aren’t built for those.
- Communication: You should both be able to communicate effectively with each other. This is VERY important in any relationship. Effectively communicating needs and wants are essential to a healthy life.
- Shared Ideals: You should share some of the same ideals. Life, family, love, and the like.
- Hobbies: This is not essential, but it helps with conversation and things to do. It’s nice to share some of the same hobbies, but you can also develop these along the way. Essentially, you should like doing things together, regardless of what it is.
- Friendship: Try to develop a friendship before you get to the more meaningful parts of a relationship. You should want to hang out with this person more than your other friends. If not, then it probably won’t last.
Feeling flabby today!
by on Jun.18, 2008, under Uncategorized
Gees, I went to the gym around 6pm and did some cardio before my training session. I actually didn’t feel exhausted after. I think I’ve been eating too much salt this last couple of weeks. I’m going to cut back and see if the bloated feeling goes away.
On a side note, I’ve really neglected keeping up with my friends back home. I’m going to have to get on that. I’ve met some really cool folks here in town. I’m excited about the new Movie Night I’m a member of. It’s a good group of guys from what I’ve seen.
My friend Ben’s partner is really nice. They seem like the perfect couple. I’ll find that one day… SOON! haha
Well, I’m just playing around with my new laptop. This sucker SCREAMS! I can play all my online games and such on it, so that’s a plus.
The graphics are awesome. I need to purchase an additional HDMI cable. I’m wondering if I have one already… I doubt it. They are so expensive in the stores. I’ll find one online.
I was thinking about having my friend Katie over since he girlfriend will be out of town for the remainder of the week. Leaving us both all alone… sad! haha
Actually they both deserve a break, Shelly just has a bit more free time since school is out! SLACKER!
I hope she has a blast on her trip. Katie and I will go romping around the city while she’s away! Getting into trouble, or gorging ourselves with food. Probably the latter! I’m soooo hungry! *taking a deep breath* No I’m not hungry, I’m just thirsty…
Well… that’s it for me for the time being. I’ll probably post some videos or something later.
Organization at work…
by on Jun.18, 2008, under Uncategorized
So, I’ve been working in my current position for almost 1 year now. I have about 3 months left. I love the job, but I’ve been having a bit of trouble really shaking out what I’ll be doing going forward. My co-worker’s thoughts are very disjointed and hard to follow, so explanations don’t come through clearly.
So I took an initiative to put together a list of all the applications/services we offer in Security. It’s quite a list, I was really surprised. I don’t think we’ve put something like this together before. I’m glad I started it. It was really supposed to help me rate my skill level in each of our respective services, but it turned into sort of a “let’s tell the company what we do” type of thing for our department.
My main focus is application security testing, and education material. I have yet to really get to delve into the topic here, but I’m hoping I will get to that soon. It’s very intriguing to me.
Anyway, I went on a date last week, it went great. We had a follow up date the next day. My only worry is that he lives about 30 minutes away, so as long as that’s not an issue I think it will be ok. My friend Jason and I have to get together again, he’s a nice guy, I’m going to throw him into my group of friends and see if he floats. I hope Jason is doing good.
Anyway, time for me to get back to work.
This weekend is BOOKED!
by on Jun.12, 2008, under Uncategorized
Except for Sunday, which might be a day of recovery, I’m booked this weekend!
Friday I have dinner with a friend and probably some fun stuff after that. MAYBE BOWLING!! WHICH I’M HORRIBLE AT!
Saturday, the day is pretty open, but at like 7ish I’m going to head over to some friends for a movie night and to meet some new Atlantans!
Sunday… we shall see. I’ve been so tired this week I might use it as a recovery day. Maybe do the gym, then veg out, or call up a friend and get coffee/tea! WHO KNOWS?!?!
*trying to get a ton of work done*
